Day one of Live&Local 2019 kicked off yesterday in Odd Mollies and what a start to the festival it was!

Fantastic support was shown for the artists as the venue filled to capacity to experience the diverse range of music scheduled for the night.

The Marxmen kicked off the evening with blistering psychosis of rock, always a show worth catching for the energy they produce. Matthew Nolan and band followed suit with catchy pop tunes, these songs are well known to the younger generations in Drogheda as Matthew continues to reach new heights as he racks up plays on Spotify and social media.

Meanwhile Darragh Halpin treated the beergarden to a fantastic set of original folk tunes on Stage II, he even sneaked in a cover of ‘The Dam’ by Daithi & Phil which went down well with the audience. Donal Quinn took to the stage next to showcase recent releases including ‘Twat’ and ‘Do You Like Spicy Food?’, well worth a listen if you haven’t had the chance to hear them yet.

Back inside Skins F.C and Modernlove. proved why they are two of the hottest young bands coming out of Drogheda at the minute. Both bands went down a storm and are sure to have plenty of new followers as their names were on the tip of tongues throughout the audience.

Local independent label and Djs Depth & Weight kept the party going into the night with sweet deep house vibes playing their own tracks and even spinning a track by local electronic artist Kev Sheridan.

Excitement is building for the Saturday and Sunday of this fantastic local music festival. Support local original music!!

Proudly supported by Firestone, Abbeylane & North East Audio Hire.
